The living area of the Saxon community from Rupea conveys, through its morphologic typology and the specific aesthetics, a strong identity message.

The painted furniture set-up is dominated by the "high bed" that concentrates all decorative embroidered textiles. The ensemble of plates and containers made of clay, hooked on long hall-stands, the table and chest, the cupboard, all hint to a traditional way of rural inhabitation, that has been transmitted for centuries; they equally illustrate a symbolic means of social and economic representation of the family. It is a private area with spruchs, fabrics with moralizing messages, where the Protestant Saxon families relate harmoniously to God.
