The borough of Rupea, attested since 1433, has developed in the central area a special architecture intended for commercial purposes.

Here there were handicrafts, workshops, grocery shops, where the locals could purchase groceries for their household, such as: salt, sugar, oil, vinegar, rice, marmalade, tobacco, candy, carobs, olives, coffee, gas, matches, as well as various accessories for the traditional Romanian or Saxon costumes: checkers, silk kerchiefs, threads, dyed cotton threads, tassels, ribbons.
In the current building there used to be Michael Falk's grocery shop, which still remains in the memory of the locals.
